John Lee Burleson, 77, passed away on November 20, 2025, in Akron, Ohio. Born on January 23, 1948, in Olney, Texas, John lived a life marked by dedication to his work, deep appreciation for his roots, and a passion for the things he loved.

John’s professional journey was distinguished as he served as Senior Vice President at Law Bulletin Publishing Company, where his leadership left a lasting imprint on the legal publishing community. Prior to that role, he served as President and Publisher at Akron Legal News. His contributions to the field were recognized nationally when he was listed in the 1993-1994 Who’s Who – a testament to his hard work and brilliance as a businessman.

Beyond his career achievements, John was known for his love of the outdoors and all things Texan. He found joy in hunting, shooting, fishing, traveling and working on his car whenever the weather was nice. He was a devoted movie enthusiast and enjoyed exploring stories on screen as much as he loved creating his own through life’s adventures.

John is remembered with love by his daughters, Noelle Burleson Hewitt and Talana Burleson-Vasquez; and by his son, Brendonne Burleson. He is survived by his partner of 11 years, Beverly “Jean” Graf. He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Burleson, mother, Anna Faye (Hart) Burleson, and brother, Fred Burleson.

John was a hardworking and driven man, and his memory will live on in the lives he influenced.
