Robert Glen Miller

Robert Glen Miller, age 70, of Akron, OH, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.

Robert was born February 21, 1955 in Etty, KY to George and Miriam (Clark) Miller.

Robert (Bob) was an incredibly interesting man. He had the wonderful experience of helping build the International Space Station. He would travel to different locations around the world assembling, and managing the assembly of different areas of it. He loved anything space related, and would always wonder what else was out there.

He was also an artist in every definition of the term. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t create. He would make swords, jewelry boxes, and intricate metal works. He could draw, paint, and had an eye for woodworking in particular. He was a fan of anything dark and odd. Including humor. He loved heavy metal, and anything with a good drumbeat!

But aside from all of these already amazing things Bob was, he was a father. He was born to be a father, and he was wonderful at it. He was not only the father to his four wonderful children, but he was a father to those who didn’t have one. He was a father to those that didn’t have one. He was the neighborhood grandpa! Taking care of and feeding any who came to his door. The world lost a man that had so much love to give. He was also one of the biggest animal lovers. There was no creature too big or too small for his love. He could make friends with any animal. He even owned a skunk at one point! So please, for Bob, hug and kiss your animals. Hold them tight. Spoil them! And consider donating to your local animal shelter.

He is survived by his daughters, Megan Miller (Jacob Ulmer), Melissa Miller (Darryl Upshur), Sandra Buess (Simon Gonzalez); son, Joshua Buess (Amber Whitecell); sister, Rebecca (Tom) Wise. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Joey, Georgie, Patty, and Charlie, and his eldest granddaughter, Juliann who passed Saturday, April 26th, 2025.
